This special tour, available only during this time of year, allows you to enjoy freshly boiled Hokkaido shrimp, a specialty of Shibetsu Town, while listening to stories from the members of "Hashinkai," an organization dedicated to preserving the ocean for the future.
Tour price: Adults 15,000 yen, Children 7,500 yen (tax included)
Even locals rarely get to eat this! Enjoy the legendary freshly boiled Hokkaido striped shrimp!
The tour starts from the port. If you're lucky, you might see fishermen returning from their Northern Sea shrimp fishing trip.
After observing the auction, we'll visit the workshop of the Hashinkai, a group of fishermen who also engage in shrimp fishing, where we'll be presented with freshly caught, lively striped shrimp! This tour, available only in July, offers a unique experience where you can boil and eat the freshly caught shrimp together.
I highly recommend you listen to the passionate commitment of the Hashinkai organization to resource management in shrimp fishing!

A fisherman's lunch is included, so please enjoy it as a lunch option as well.

1. Meet up (Meeting place will be announced by email)
2. Visit Shibetsu Fishing Port
3. Move to the Hashinkai warehouse and boil freshly caught Hokkaido shrimp
4. Enjoy the rare, freshly boiled Hokkaido shrimp!
5. Make a seafood bowl with Hashinkai's special sashimi
6. Disband at the meeting place

In 2026, the tour will not be available from July 19–22 due to the fish market closure.

What to Wear:Even in July, it can get chilly at the port when it’s windy. We recommend bringing a jacket that will protect you from the wind and rain.
What to Bring / Recommended:
・Rubber boots will be provided. Please let us know your shoe size in advance.
・A hat and sunglasses are recommended for sun protection.
・A drink for the fishing port tour.

Not Included:Drinks during lunch other than water.
Products from Hashinkai are also available for purchase. Please purchase them directly on-site.
